Abstract

Background: The importance of reproductive health, especially for women, is largely unknown to mothers and adolescents. One of the reasons is the low level of knowledge, especially for adolescent girls. This can have an impact on their reproductive health. Knowledge is one of the factors that can influence a person's behavior, especially a healthy lifestyle. There are many obstacles that can hinder information about reproductive health in adolescents. One of the reasons is that they feel ashamed and are considered taboo, especially in rural areas. In the current digital era, digital media is an easy and flexible media to provide education to the community, especially women, so that they are able to improve their reproductive health. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Social Media on adolescent knowledge about Reproductive Health. Method: This study used a descriptive narrative design with a Literature Review approach. The data sources used were from previously studied research journals. This study used 10 journals obtained from relevant databases, namely Google Scholar and Pubmed, starting from 2019 to 2024. Results: From the results of the study based on the literature study used as a comparison, it was found that social media has a significant impact on improving reproductive health in adolescents. Conclusion: The benefits of social media and the internet as a medium for health information are very effective, more interactive, fun, easily accessible, and practical, this is preferred over conventional health education. This approach strategy can be carried out by health workers to carry out preventive efforts in the form of health education, counseling and health promotion to improve the level of reproductive health in adolescents.
